Arx Hereticus

Welcome to the ramblings of a merry heretic, an ex-pat (Tex-pat?) American living in Maryland after having spent six years in Germany. Arx Hereticus is part travelogue, part cooking, part budo, part socio-political commentary and mostly just me BSing.

Guten Rutsch

Happy New Year to all you heretics and heathens and freethinkers of any ilk!

2006 promises to be just as ... interesting ... as last year, maybe more so. Hedgewitch and I celebrated the Solstice and New Year pretty low key this year. Stayed in, pampered and spoiled each other, had dinner with friends for Xmas, wound up partying with new neighbors New Years (early, early) morn. Had friends over for a Hangover Brunch (at 3 p.m.) New Years Day.

The season was only tarnished by one note of bad news, a pending death in my family. Not unexpected, but will still be a sad event as we move into the new year.

So, now, the season's wound down and it's back to the grindstone.

I've got some thoughts about wehre to go with this blog, and will try to post at least once a week.

In the meantime, check out a couple of Texas favorites of mine:

Jim Hightower
Kinky Friedman

And don't forget: VOTE KINKY!

Frohe Neue Jarh, ya'll!
